Description
About the Company
At MindFull Support, we are a values-driven team of youth support workers dedicated to making a genuine difference in the lives of young people. We prioritize integrity, humor, and heart in everything we do. Our approach is grounded in a commitment to authenticity and collaboration, ensuring that everyone on our team feels valued and heard. We believe in doing our work the right way, without the constraints of hierarchy or pretense.
About the Role
We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team as Youth Support Workers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with youth and rangatahi, providing support in a meaningful and impactful way. We prioritize your well-being and respect your unique approach to work. Our team culture encourages open communication and collaboration, allowing your ideas and insights to shape the future of our organization.
Working with us means having real time to rest, as we offer 48–72 hour shifts that provide ample time off each week. You will receive comprehensive support, including counseling, clinical, and cultural supervision as standard practice. We value your autonomy and trust you to lead your own day while maintaining strong boundaries. Our environment fosters teamwork, reflection, and growth, ensuring that we evolve together.
Requirements
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Experience working with youth, particularly in mental health, disability, or high-needs contexts
- A strong understanding of trauma-informed care, with a commitment to embodying these principles
- Cultural competency that honors Māori and Pasifika rangatahi, whether through lived experience or learned knowledge
- The ability to hold space and establish boundaries effectively
- A calm demeanor in crisis situations, with a reflective and collaborative approach to practice
- A desire to be part of a kaupapa that seeks to transform the care system rather than simply uphold it
Additionally, you will need:
- A full driver’s license and a reliable vehicle (with current WOF and registration)
- A Level 3 or higher qualification in youth work or health
- Legal eligibility to work in Aotearoa
- Availability for 24-hour shifts, including ideally one or two per weekend and one weekend shift every second weekend
Benefits
Joining our team means becoming part of a unique and supportive community. We receive over 100 applicants each month, but we focus on hiring individuals who align with our values and understand the importance of boundaries and routine in youth support. Our commitment to protecting our kaupapa ensures that we maintain a strong and cohesive team dedicated to making a real difference.
If this sounds like the right fit for you, we invite you to apply by April 20. We look forward to engaging in a genuine conversation about the potential to work together.
