Description
About the Company
At Chevron Traffic, we are a well-established, New Zealand-owned brand recognized for our trusted traffic management services. We provide support to various sectors, including construction, utilities, roading, and infrastructure. Our expertise extends to managing traffic at significant events such as the Auckland Marathon, Santa Parade, Iron Man in Taupo, and the Northern Express Group (NX2). We are committed to offering rewarding careers in the traffic management industry for dedicated individuals who are willing to work hard and demonstrate their abilities.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a Traffic Controller (TC) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing temporary traffic management and ensuring the safety of both pedestrians and vehicles. Your daily responsibilities will include setting up, supervising, and removing traffic management equipment, as well as directing traffic using stop/go methods.
In addition to the standard TC duties, holding a Class 1 license allows you to operate our double cabs and utes, while a Class 2 license enables you to drive our Traffic Management Vehicles (TMAs). We will leverage your skills for various tasks, including shadow driving, backup driving, and transporting crew members from the yard to the worksite.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate reliability and a strong work ethic. As this is a casual contract role, a willingness to work is essential.
A drug-free lifestyle is required, and while a Full Class 1 or Class 2 NZ license is advantageous, it is not mandatory.
Having your own transport is a plus, as is a positive attitude and a good sense of humor.
Benefits
We offer a competitive pay range of $23.50 to $27 per hour, with the opportunity to earn up to $36 per hour as you develop your skills.
You will receive brand new personal protective equipment (PPE) at no cost to you, and we provide a paid induction week based on the new Waka Kotahi (NZ transport agency) competency model.
Our positions are available in Wiri and Henderson locations.
If you are ready to take the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply now.
