About the Role
We are currently seeking a qualified and reliable Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) to join our team in Auckland. This full-time position offers a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. As an STMS, you will play a crucial role in supervising and implementing temporary traffic management plans on construction and civil sites. Your focus will be on ensuring compliance with the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) Code of Practice while protecting both workers and the public in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and implementing temporary traffic management plans on construction and civil sites.
- Ensuring compliance with the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) Code of Practice.
- Overseeing site safety and traffic flow to protect workers and the public.
- Leading and coordinating Traffic Controllers (TCs) on site.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and the public in a professional manner.
- Completing site audits, documentation, and reporting.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you will need the following qualifications and experience:
- STMS Level 1 (Category A/B) or STMS Universal qualification (essential).
- A valid Traffic Controller (TC) ticket.
- A full New Zealand Driver’s Licence (Class 1 minimum; Class 2 preferred).
- Proven experience in temporary traffic management and site supervision.
- A strong understanding of NZTA guidelines and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- The ability to work flexible hours and in varied weather conditions.
Bonus If You Have
- STMS Category C qualification (for high-speed or complex sites).
- A Class 2 Driver’s Licence or truck driving experience.
- ConstructSafe or Site Safe Passport.
- Experience with TMP design or approval.
