About the Company
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and aims to serve all New Zealanders. We are focused on building a health system that emphasizes partnership, equity, sustainability, and whanau-centered care, all while promoting excellence in healthcare delivery.
About the Role
In this position, you will provide effective care management, key work, and nursing care grounded in Early Intervention principles. Your role will involve a strong emphasis on functional recovery, where you will work collaboratively with young people and their whanau to achieve positive outcomes.
You will also collaborate with community agencies and resources to benefit our clients and their families. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and facilitating groups for clients and their whanau as needed, as well as delivering education and training on early intervention in psychosis.
About the Team/Service Location
The Early Intervention Service is a creative and innovative multidisciplinary team dedicated to assessing and treating young people aged 13 to 25 who are experiencing their first-time psychotic disorder. Our goal is to minimize the disorder's impact on their lives through a client-centered, strengths-based, and collaborative support program.
We are inspired by the recovery-focused framework outlined in the book "Recovery after a First Episode of Psychosis." Our team regularly evaluates outcomes, allowing us to continually adjust, improve, and innovate the services we provide. We extend our sub-regional service across the Greater Wellington Region, including Wellington, Porirua, Kapiti, and Hutt, and also offer consultation, liaison, and training to mental health services in the Central Region Districts.
About You
We are looking for candidates with excellent assessment skills and the ability to engage creatively with young people. Experience in working with whanau and in group settings is essential, along with a valid annual practicing certificate and a full driving license.
