    About the Company Tradestaff Global is a leading provider of skilled tradespeople, and we are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for individuals interested in working at McMurdo Station in Antarctica during the Summer of 2025/26. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from various trades to join our team in this unique and challenging environment. About the Role Deployments are anticipated to take place from approximately October 2025 through to March 2026. The roles we are offering are not for the faint-hearted, as you will spend several months in one of the most isolated yet stunning locations on Earth. We are looking for hard-working team players to contribute to a large commercial construction project in Antarctica. All candidates should be prepared to take on a variety of tasks and support one another in this demanding environment. The specific roles we are seeking include: - Commercial Plumbers with a current Certifying Licence - HVAC Technicians - Duct Installers - Commercial Electricians with a current NZ Practising Licence - Pipe Welders with a current ASME 9 Ticket - Pipe Fitters - Qualified Commercial Carpenters or Builders (Trade Qualified) Requirements Please note that due to travel restrictions, only New Zealand and US Citizens with New Zealand or US passports who are currently and permanently residing and working in New Zealand may apply. Additionally, the following requirements must be met: - Vaccinations: Candidates must be willing to receive Flu, Tdap, and MMR vaccines. - Availability: These positions are not 'fly in, fly out' (FIFO); you should be prepared for an extended stay on the ice. - Working Hours: Expect to work long hours, typically six days a week. - Conditions: Start dates are approximate and contingent on passing medical and dental checks, obtaining security clearance, your notice period, and flight availability to the ice. - Testing: A pre-employment drug and alcohol test is mandatory. - Licensing: A Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and a clean criminal record are required. - Application Process: The application process can be lengthy, so patience is essential. You will need to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental examinations, and we will cover the costs of tests and flights if you are coming from outside the Bay of Plenty.
