About the Role
We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Medical Imaging Technologist to join our Medical Imaging team at Palmerston North Hospital in a permanent full-time capacity. This role involves rotating through various shifts to provide coverage for General X-Ray, Theatre, Emergency Department, and Mobile imaging services. Experience in Interventional Radiology and/or CT is advantageous, and site-specific orientation will be provided as necessary.
As a member of our team of approximately 60 Medical Imaging Technologists, which includes specialists in MRI, CT, General, Nuclear Medicine, and Sonography, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality imaging services.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Performing patient examinations to a high standard
- Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring all administrative tasks, including paperwork for exams, are complete
- Adhering to ethical and professional practices while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Providing supervision and support for Medical Imaging Technologist students as required

About You

You will also possess:
- New Zealand registration and a current annual practicing certificate
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective communication, teamwork, and collaborative abilities
- Strong time management skills with the ability to demonstrate initiative and flexibility
- IV-line insertion skills would be considered an asset
