About the Role
We are excited to announce a fixed-term position for a Registered Midwife at Te Whatu Ora Lakes, offering a part-time commitment of 0.7 FTE (28 hours per week). In our bustling secondary care maternity unit, we manage approximately 1,250 births each year, providing a full range of secondary obstetric services.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering clinical midwifery services in accordance with the Midwifery Council's scope of practice.
- Providing primary and secondary maternity services as part of our interdisciplinary clinical teams.
- Committing to maintaining your clinical skills in line with our organizational best practice guidelines.
- Engaging in continuous quality improvement activities.

About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Current New Zealand Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate as a Midwife.
- A Midwifery Certificate and recent clinical experience in midwifery practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a variety of stakeholders.
- A commitment to being a collaborative team player.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to initiating your learning journey in these areas.
- Experience in projects or initiatives that align with the principles of Te Tiriti and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, especially in healthcare settings.
