About the Role We are excited to offer a casual position for a Registered Midwife at Te Whatu Ora Lakes. Our busy secondary care maternity unit manages approximately 1,250 births annually and provides a comprehensive range of secondary obstetric services. You will be part of a supportive medical team in a friendly hospital environment, where you can enjoy both clinical variety and strong team relationships. This role allows you to achieve job satisfaction while enjoying the lifestyle options available in one of New Zealand's prime tourist destinations. In this position, you will be responsible for: - Providing clinical midwifery services in alignment with the Midwifery Council's scope of practice. - Delivering primary and secondary maternity services as part of our interdisciplinary clinical teams. - Committing to maintaining clinical skills in accordance with organizational best practice guidelines. - Engaging in continuous quality improvement activities. Please note that due to the nature of this position, which involves contact with children, you will be subject to safety checks under the Children's Act at the time of hire and subsequently as required by relevant legislation. About You The ideal candidate will possess: - Current New Zealand Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate. - A Midwifery Certificate. - Recent clinical experience in midwifery practice. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with all stakeholders. - A commitment to being a collaborative team player.
