About the Role
We are seeking a clinical psychologist to join our Child Development Service on a permanent part-time basis (0.8 FTE, 32 hours per week). As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide specialist developmental assessments—including cognitive and neuropsychological assessments, as well as assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder—and interventions. Our holistic approach aims to enable children with disabilities to achieve their maximum potential within their families and broader environments.
Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will work closely with medical and allied health professionals. While the position is primarily based at the Puketiro Centre in Porirua, the successful applicant must be available to work at all Child Development sites across the region, from Wellington to Kapiti.

We employ a holistic approach, enabling children to reach their full potential while considering their family and community contexts. Our team includes Speech Language Therapists, Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Clinical Psychologists, Developmental Paediatricians, a Social Worker, a Clinical Pathway Coordinator, and an ASD Coordinator, supported by a small team of administrative staff.
About You
The ideal candidate will have strong collaborative and supportive skills to ensure the provision of appropriate assessment and treatment. Excellent clinical skills and comfort with assessments are essential for this role. You should be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships within the team.
Candidates must hold current registration with the Psychologists Board, possess a clinical psychologist scope of practice, and have an Annual Practicing Certificate.
