About the Role
We are currently seeking full-time Construction Technicians for deployment on projects throughout New Zealand. These positions are permanent and will be assigned based on project demand, allowing you to work in diverse locations across the country. We offer competitive pay ranging from a minimum of $25.00 per hour to a maximum of $40.00 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week. As part of our commitment to our employees, we provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools necessary for the job.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks aligned with your skills and capabilities, contributing effectively to our projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Complying with all aspects of contracts, projects, or tasks, while delivering customer service that meets or exceeds expectations.
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Creating structures, forms, or chutes and pouring concrete.
- Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and laying hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors.
- Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard, sanding patches as needed.
- Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms.
- General labouring, including cleaning construction sites as required.
- Loading and unloading building materials, tools, and equipment, and transporting them around sites.
- Performing any other duties as assigned by your manager.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and experience:
- Some experience in the construction industry is preferred, but not essential.
- A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and a solid work ethic are essential.
- Commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to fabricate and install custom joinery and cabinetry.
- Experience with general framing, fix-outs, door hanging, skirting, and architraves.
- Precision in measuring and cutting materials.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
- A willingness to collaborate with other trades as needed.
- Must be able to pass a criminal check and drug test.
Nationwide Opportunity and Travel
While this role is listed in Wellington, we are actively recruiting for positions that will be deployed across all regions of New Zealand based on project requirements. These regions include:
North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington.
South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
We invite applicants from any of these regions who are willing to travel or relocate as needed. Relocation costs will be covered by the company.
