About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers for immediate and ongoing deployment in various projects nationwide. These full-time, permanent positions guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week, with pay rates ranging from $25.00 to $40.00 per hour. Our company provides all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools required for the job. This role is perfect for individuals with a strong background in structural reinforcement who are willing to relocate or travel as project demands dictate.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Interpreting engineering plans and drawings to accurately cut, bend, and place steel bars and mesh.
- Tying rebar using the appropriate techniques for different reinforcement systems.
- Placing and securing steel within formwork prior to concrete pouring.
- Adhering to health, safety, and quality standards on-site.
- Collaborating efficiently within large construction teams while meeting strict deadlines.
Skills and Experience Required
To qualify for this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of three years of experience in steel fixing or reinforcing steel, either in New Zealand or abroad.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong physical fitness and attention to detail.
- Experience working on commercial, civil, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Relevant trade experience or qualifications, which would be advantageous.
Nationwide Opportunity and Travel
While this role is listed for Wellington, we are actively recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand, based on project requirements. The regions include:
North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatū-Whanganui, and Wellington.
South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland.
