About the Role
We are looking for someone who is passionate about people and workplace culture. Key responsibilities in this position include:
- Assisting with recruitment processes, including interviewing, onboarding, and induction of new team members.
- Helping to deliver effective training and development programs.
- Building a strong and cohesive team culture that aligns with our core values and vision.
- Supporting HR administrative functions and assisting with the implementation of employment-related legislation.
- Assisting with performance management, employee relations, and compliance tracking.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential HR records and documentation in both digital and physical formats.
- Supporting the delivery of health, safety, and food safety programs.
- Building strong working relationships with Foodstuffs South Island Head Office and other external partners.
Requirements

- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- A team player attitude and a commitment to discretion and confidentiality.
- An understanding of New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practices, or a willingness to learn quickly.
- A clear understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality, compliance with data protection laws, and building trust within the team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
