About the Role
We are currently looking for Community Dentists to join our Oral Health Service in the Waikato region. This part-time position, totaling 32 hours per week (0.8 FTE), is based in Hamilton but will require regular travel to our Rural Hospitals and Community clinics throughout the area.
In this role, our Community Dentists will provide dental care that extends beyond the capabilities of a Dental/Oral Health Therapist. This includes treating patients under nitrous oxide sedation and general anaesthesia, primarily focusing on eligible preschoolers, students, and some adolescents. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our graduate and undergraduate education programmes.

About Hamilton
Hamilton is home to the Waikato Hospital, a leading tertiary teaching hospital that serves as the regional hub for the Midland area. With approximately 722 inpatient beds and 22 operating theatres, Waikato Hospital offers a wide range of comprehensive services, including radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy. The hospital collaborates with the University of Auckland, University of Waikato, and Wintec, providing a dynamic learning environment and various research opportunities.

About You
We are looking for a motivated individual with a postgraduate qualification or strong interest in public oral health care. A knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi is essential for this role.
