About the Role We are currently seeking dedicated Community Support Workers to assist our service users in North and West Auckland, covering areas such as Waitakere, Kumeu, Helensville, Muriwai, Kaukapakapa, Waitoki, Wainui, Orewa, Puhoi, Warkworth, Snells Beach, Point Wells, Matakana, Tawharanui, Omaha, Te Arai, Tapora, Port Albert, Waiteitei, Wellsford, and Mangawhai. This role is dynamic, people-facing, and deeply rewarding. It offers a unique opportunity to provide invaluable support guided by the needs of the individuals you will be assisting. Responsibilities may include: - Assisting with personal care, such as showering and bathing - Supporting household management and meal preparation - Aiding in exercise programs - Assisting with community access - Providing bowel, bladder, and catheter care - Moving and handling hoists and manual transfers - Supporting medication management Job Location: Auckland Employment Type: We offer permanent full-time positions (30+ hours) as well as part-time opportunities (up to 29 hours). Various employment options, including casual roles, will be discussed during the recruitment process. Days of Work: As this is community-based work, rotating rosters will be involved, which may include morning, evening, and weekend shifts. Your preferred hours can be discussed during the recruitment process. We are seeking candidates who are comfortable covering hours between 7 am and 11 pm, with the duration of shifts varying based on the specific needs of the individuals we support. About You We are looking for individuals who possess a calm yet confident demeanor, demonstrating resilience and understanding of the challenges faced by our service users. The role of a support worker comes with various responsibilities, which can be both challenging and fulfilling, ultimately allowing you to help individuals live their best lives in the community. Candidate Pre-Requisites: - Prior personal care experience is preferred, whether in a rest home or community setting - Familiarity with complex medical conditions, such as spinal injuries or traumatic brain injury - Experience working with children with intellectual disabilities, including Autism - Access to a car and the ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is required) - Ability to drive a mobility van (training provided) - A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial, but those looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered, as comprehensive training can be provided - Flexibility to travel throughout Auckland - Willingness to work on a rotating roster - Legal right to work in New Zealand is essential Benefits - Competitive hourly pay ranging from $24.13 to $30.03, based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017 and assessed equivalency of healthcare qualifications - Flexible working hours - Travel allowance in accordance with In Between Travel (IBT) rules - Opportunities to gain Level 3 and Level 4 Qualifications in Health and Wellbeing through Careerforce NZ - Paid competency training - Free Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) services - Free flu vaccinations - Refer-a-friend program Interested?
