About the Role We are currently looking for a qualified and dependable carpenter to join our respected team, focusing on delivering high-quality residential projects throughout central Christchurch. This role provides a diverse range of work with a steady pipeline of new builds and refurbishment projects, allowing you to take pride in your craftsmanship. Location: Central Christchurch Start Date: Immediate start available Pay Rate: $32–35 per hour (paid weekly) What You Will Be Doing In this role, you will engage in residential carpentry across various sites in central Christchurch. Your responsibilities will include: - Executing the full build scope from foundation to finishing - Installing frames, trusses, cladding, windows, doors, and interior finishes - Reading and interpreting plans and drawings - Conducting renovation and upgrade work, including structural and cosmetic changes - Working both independently and as part of a team to meet project milestones - Maintaining tidy workspaces and upholding site safety standards What You Will Need To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes: - New Zealand Level 4 Carpentry Qualification (or equivalent) - Your own hand tools and reliable transport - Confidence working from plans and across all stages of construction - A strong work ethic and keen attention to detail - The ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test - Immediate availability Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package and various benefits, including: - Excellent pay: $32–35 per hour, depending on experience (paid weekly) - Steady hours: Monday to Friday, 7am–5pm - Long-term opportunities for the right candidate - A variety of interesting work on well-managed central city sites - All necessary PPE provided by the Tradestaff Christchurch team - The chance to work with a respected crew that values your skills If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply online today or contact our team at 03 377 8959 for more information.
