About the Role We invite you to become part of our vibrant team at our 12-bed residential service in Kilbirnie, where each day is filled with energy, laughter, and connection. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in empowering Tangata Whaiora to achieve their goals and foster independence. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily activities such as cooking, attending appointments, and medication support, as well as strengthening relationships with whanau. Every interaction presents an opportunity to positively impact lives, including your own. You will thrive in a collaborative and supportive environment, with numerous chances for personal and professional development within a caring team. What Your Day Might Look Like - Supporting Tangata Whaiora in connecting with their whanau and accessing essential health services. - Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to provide comprehensive care. - Assisting Tangata Whaiora in identifying and achieving their personal goals. - Maintaining accurate documentation and sharing insights during team handovers. - Contributing your ideas during team meetings and celebrating shared successes. About You We are seeking a positive, adaptable, and compassionate individual to join our team. You will bring enthusiasm and empathy, inspiring Tangata Whaiora to realize their potential. With a warm and professional demeanor, you will build trust while maintaining strong boundaries. To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications: - Experience in mental health support work and the ability to work across a service shift pattern. - A background in assisting individuals in creating and achieving their goals. - The ability to work effectively with external partners to provide comprehensive support for those accessing our services. - Resilience and emotional intelligence to navigate the challenges of mental health support work. - A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 (or plans to achieve this). - A solid understanding of recovery principles and a commitment to empowering others. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Flexibility to work rostered shifts. - A full, clean driver's license and eligibility to work in New Zealand.
