About the Company At Bellvue Farm, we are a dedicated team located in Reporoa, New Zealand. We take pride in our rich history of hosting backpackers, as many of our permanent staff have enjoyed overseas adventures themselves. Our team includes permanent staff from Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, and the Philippines, alongside seasonal backpackers from various backgrounds. About the Role We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Milk Harvester to join our hardworking team from now until late August, with some flexibility in the start date. This position is suitable for one individual only; we are not accepting applications from couples or friend groups. Our farm spans over 395 hectares and operates a system 4 to 5, currently milking 850 cows in a 60-bail rotary shed equipped with automatic cup removers. Our infrastructure is top-notch, featuring two feed pads, a freshly lined effluent pond, and a traveling irrigator. Additionally, we have a mixer wagon, tractors, telehandlers, and excellent calf rearing facilities for those interested in exploring other areas of farm work. As a split-calving farm, we milk twice a day all year round, ensuring there are plenty of hours available. We are looking for someone with milking experience, preferably in either herringbone or rotary systems, who is likely on a Working Holiday Visa. Key attributes for success in this role include a positive attitude, the ability to think on your feet, punctuality, and effective communication skills. The work schedule typically consists of 11 days on followed by 3 days off, with some flexibility in the roster. Requirements To be considered for this position, candidates must already be in New Zealand and entitled to work here. A full and valid driver’s license is required, and applicants must be willing to undergo drug tests and a police check.
