Successful candidates will be expected to report for duty at our home port of Lyttelton. Each contract is for a period of six months, with voyages lasting between four to six weeks. Please note that time ashore during port turnarounds is limited.
Requirements
Candidates should have previous deep-sea fishing experience and possess the following qualities:

- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to build good relationships
- Openness to receiving and following instructions and feedback
- A mature work ethic characterized by honesty, reliability, and trustworthiness
- Ability to perform well under pressure
- Good physical fitness and health
We encourage applicants who may not meet all requirements to apply, as we have sponsored positions available for suitable candidates to undertake a basic entry-level training course designed to prepare individuals for employment at sea. This deep-sea training course involves an intensive live-in experience with a roster similar to that of actual sea conditions. Successful completion of the course will lead to further consideration for employment, subject to our standard processes.
Please be aware that pre-employment and ongoing drug testing is mandatory for all positions. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or hold a residence class visa.
To apply, candidates must complete an application and personal disclosure form. Additionally, you will need to provide the names and contact information for two referees from the fishing industry with whom you have previously worked. By applying, you consent to us contacting your past employers as part of the vetting process.
