About the Role
We are currently looking for enthusiastic IKEA Sales Co-workers to join our team. If you have a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
As a Sales Co-worker at IKEA, your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with customers to understand their needs, providing information about IKEA products and services to support their purchasing decisions.
- Actively participating in sales with a positive attitude and contributing to our business goals.
- Delivering a seamless customer experience across all omnichannel touchpoints, ensuring an engaging journey for our customers.
- Becoming an expert on IKEA products, continuously learning about their features and benefits.
- Maintaining a well-stocked, presentable, and attractively merchandised sales area with correct pricing.
- Assembling products according to instructions to ensure they function correctly.
- Understanding the IKEA customer journey and ensuring a smooth experience from exploration to post-purchase support.
- Building strong relationships with your team and other departments to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Familiarizing yourself with the IKEA app and website to better assist customers in their digital interactions.
- Understanding home delivery and additional services, such as furniture assembly, to enhance customer assistance.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in a sales or customer service role, preferably in a home furnishing or fast-paced retail environment.
- A passion for home furnishings and a commitment to maintaining a high level of product knowledge.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with customers and build lasting relationships.
- An authentic approach to generating sales while maintaining professionalism and a self-motivated attitude toward achieving targets.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- A collaborative mindset, capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in computer skills and the ability to learn about IKEA products and tools.
- A safe mindset and comfort with physical work, including manual handling and repetitive movements.
What You Need to Know
- This role is based at our Sylvia Park store in Auckland. Initially, you may work from our Warehouse in Māngere as we prepare for the store opening.
- We are hiring for several permanent part-time positions with varying hours available:
- 60-79 hours per fortnight
- 40-59 hours per fortnight
- 20-39 hours per fortnight
- The internal title for this role is IKEA Co-worker, and the expected start date is 21 September 2025.
- The recruitment process begins with an application form. If selected for the next stage, you will be invited to complete a video interview.
- Our store operates seven days a week, so you must be available to work a rotating roster, including day and evening shifts, as well as weekends.

- Please note that IKEA Sylvia Park is a non-smoking workplace, and we encourage the use of public transport, as parking will not be provided.
