About the Company
We are currently collaborating with a prominent Canterbury-owned civil construction firm that is seeking to expand its team. This organization values long-term relationships and is eager to find a dedicated team member to join their operations across Canterbury.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Machine Operator with a strong background in civil contracting. The ideal candidate will be confident in operating diggers ranging from 1.5T to 20T. While having WTR endorsements is essential, a Class 2 license is preferred but not mandatory.
In this role, you will be part of a close-knit, medium-sized team involved in various civil projects, primarily focusing on drainage. Although you will spend a significant amount of time operating machinery, this position is hands-on and requires full engagement with the team.
The working hours are Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 5:00/5:30 PM, with occasional evening returns to the yard for regional work. Opportunities for weekend work are also available for those looking to earn additional income.
Requirements
We are interested in hearing from candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator in a similar role
- Class 2 License (ideal but not essential)
- WTR endorsements
- Proficient in operating diggers from 1.5T to 12T
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Presentable and professional demeanor, representing the company positively
