About the Role
In this position, you will be responsible for creating access and laying underground cabling. You will work either independently or as part of a team to ensure safety while efficiently completing tasks.
Your duties will include operating heavy machinery such as excavators, trucks, and trench compactors, as well as performing manual labor that involves digging, hauling cables, carrying, and lifting. It is essential that all construction activities are conducted in accordance with safe operating practices.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy machinery, with skills in digging and concrete work.
- Physical fitness to perform the required tasks effectively.
- A positive and collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Self-motivation, organizational skills, and a disciplined work ethic.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Previous experience in an electrical distribution company or knowledge of the power industry is advantageous.
- A valid Class 1 driver’s license, with a Class 2 license being preferable.
