About the Role We are seeking an exceptional Village Assistant to join our team at our Whangarei Village, with a position available until September 2025. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the safety and security of the village while being prepared to respond to any medical or emergency incidents that may arise. As the first point of contact for all village-related matters during your shift, you will provide a visible and reassuring presence overnight, ensuring our residents feel safe and supported while they rest. Additionally, you will assist the Village Manager with various tasks, including administrative support and housekeeping duties. The hours for this role are as follows: Monday and Tuesday: 4:30 PM - 11:30 PM Wednesday to Friday: 11:30 PM - 7:30 AM Requirements We are looking for a candidate who brings a calm and confident demeanor to the role. You should be comfortable working independently overnight and capable of making sound decisions under pressure. Experience as a security guard or in a similar role would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: - Confidence in working independently and making quick, effective decisions when necessary - Strong communication skills, remaining calm and composed in high-pressure or emergency situations - A sense of responsibility and dependability, with keen observational skills and attention to detail - Ability to build rapport and trust with residents - A current First Aid certificate and a full driver’s license Benefits When you join the Summerset team, you become part of a community where your contributions have a real impact.
