About the Role
We are offering full-time positions based at either Whangarei or Kaitaia hospitals, with part-time applications also welcomed. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of anaesthetic and ancillary equipment for anaesthetists in the operating theatre. You will provide direct clinical assistance to anaesthetists and intensivists, maintaining a high standard of patient care.
As a member of our integrated operating theatre team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient functioning of the operating theatre. These are permanent positions, and we encourage applicants who may prefer part-time opportunities to apply.
About Location
Our positions are available in both Whangarei Hospital, located in Northland, and Kaitaia Hospital, situated in the Far North. If you choose Whangarei as your base, there may be opportunities to work in Kaitaia for a few days, allowing you to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Far North. Similarly, if your base is Kaitaia, you can take advantage of the chance to work in Whangarei.

About You
We are looking for candidates who possess a Certificate or Diploma in Anaesthetic Technology or an equivalent qualification. You should be registered with the Medical Science Council of New Zealand and hold a current practicing certificate. A demonstrated ability to practice in a culturally safe manner is essential, along with competency in te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori. If you are not yet proficient, a commitment to beginning your learning journey and taking ownership of your growth is important.
Experience in projects or initiatives that align with Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, as well as the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches in healthcare settings, will be advantageous.
