About the Role
We are seeking qualified Level 3 and Level 4 Servicepersons with experience in civil or water services to join our team. This position offers permanent opportunities in Porirua, Wellington, and Lower Hutt.
In this role, you will not be involved in drain laying; instead, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a continuous supply of quality water with minimal disruption to our communities. You will also help maintain our drainage networks, ensuring they are free-flowing and promptly repaired. Working within our Drainage, Water, or Roading Departments as part of the reinstatement team, you can expect a variety of tasks that may include both planned and reactive work throughout the Wellington and South Wairarapa regions.
Key Responsibilities
In your role, you will be responsible for:
- Installing and repairing water and drainage connections on mains of all sizes
- Managing jobs of varying complexities
- Flushing and charging water mains
- Maintaining a free-flowing wastewater and stormwater piped network
- Completing network repairs and clearing blockages
- Minimizing leaking infrastructure and installing connections
- Constructing and adjusting manholes and pipelines
- Working collaboratively with different teams and contractors to achieve positive outcomes

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A reliable, hard-working, and proactive attitude
- The ability to utilize technology (such as iPads or tablets) for recording information
- A solid understanding and commitment to workplace health and safety
- A full and clean Class 1 NZ driver's license; a Class 2 license is an added advantage
- A preference for outdoor work and the ability to perform manual labor tasks
- Flexibility to work on an on-call roster, including shift work and standby duties
Benefits
In this position, you will have the opportunity to earn between $85,000 and $105,000, which includes overtime and on-call allowances, depending on your level of qualification.
