About the Role
We invite you to join our team at the Central Regional Forensic Service, a hub of forensic excellence nestled in the picturesque lower and eastern North Island of New Zealand. This role offers an exciting opportunity for those seeking their next adventure in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Our Mental Health, Addiction, and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) operates across the Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley districts as well as the Wairarapa district. The Central Regional Forensic Service provides a variety of services for both adults and youth, including inpatient care, prison and community services, a national Youth Forensic service, and the newly established national Fixated Threat Assessment Centre.
Our dedicated teams deliver mental health care to local and regional men's and women's prisons, youth offending units, and justice facilities. Additionally, we provide court liaison services for adult and youth courts, along with community support for individuals classified as Special Patients or those requiring ongoing forensic community care.
About You
We are looking for candidates who are vocationally registered in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) or hold an equivalent qualification that allows for registration with MCNZ. While specialty training in Forensic Psychiatry is preferred, we welcome applications from those who are passionate about this field.
