About the Role We are currently seeking dedicated and self-motivated individuals for the position of Trainee Company Meat Inspector. As part of our Compliance team, successful applicants will be responsible for conducting post-mortem inspections of dressed carcasses and their parts to ensure compliance with food safety standards. To support our trainees, we offer comprehensive training that will enable them to achieve the NZQA Level Four Certificate in Animal Examination (Sheep, Lamb, Beef, and Bobby). We welcome applicants who can demonstrate a commitment to learning and are eager to participate in this training program. Requirements By the end of the 26-week training program, successful applicants will be expected to operate in a fast-paced role that involves knife handling. Therefore, in addition to a background in knife handling, we are looking for candidates who possess the following key personal attributes: - Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills - A friendly and approachable demeanor, along with a strong team spirit - A solid work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude - A proven track record of reliability and punctuality - The ability to follow instructions and work independently While not mandatory, previous experience in the meat industry, food production, or the food safety field would be advantageous.
