Information Services Coordinator - Waikato Hospital Laboratory Full Time, Fixed Term - 15 Months We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for an Information Services Coordinator to join our collaborative laboratory information team at Waikato Hospital. This role is pivotal as we transition to a new laboratory information system, and we are looking for someone who is detail-oriented and ready to contribute their skills. About the Role In this fixed-term position, you will work closely with a network of information services staff, vendors, and laboratory users to develop, test, and implement the new Laboratory Information System (LIS). Your responsibilities will include supporting the planning, delivery, and evaluation of LIS projects to ensure they meet our time, cost, and quality expectations. You will also provide training and ongoing support to laboratory user acceptance testers and super users throughout the project lifecycle. Collaboration with LIS vendors and the Waikato Health Database IS team will be essential to manage and maintain the LIS, ensuring that it provides smooth and continuous service. Additionally, you will assist with the daily operation of the LIS and its interfaces to support uninterrupted lab services. Creating and maintaining training materials, policies, and procedures related to the LIS will also be part of your role. Requirements Essential: - A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification in Information Systems or laboratory science - At least two years of experience in Information Systems and/or laboratory settings - Proven expertise in configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting complex information systems - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a history of innovative thinking - Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable of conveying technical concepts to varied audiences - Adaptability and resilience in fast-paced and challenging environments - A collaborative team player with a proactive approach to continuous improvement Desired: - Experience working with Sysmex Delphic - Knowledge of SQL and/or Linux - Tertiary qualification in Information Systems and/or project management - Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLSc) or other relevant qualification - Registration as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in New Zealand About Hamilton Waikato Hospital is a major regional and tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand. Serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, it provides comprehensive services, including radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy.
