    About the Company We are currently partnering with a client who is looking for a skilled and trade-qualified Maintenance Tradesperson. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on compactors, containers, and related equipment while advancing your career in a supportive environment. About the Role In this role, you will be responsible for performing inspections, servicing, and repairs on compactors and associated machinery. Initially, you will engage in hands-on maintenance tasks alongside our dedicated team. As you gain experience, there is potential for you to take on on-call responsibilities and advance into a senior or supervisory position, with opportunities to become involved in operations or team leadership in the future. Location: East Tamaki, Auckland Hours: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm, with future rostered on-call work requiring 24/7 availability Pay: Starting rate of $30 per hour, negotiable based on experience, plus on-call allowances Duties Your primary responsibilities will include: - Inspecting, servicing, and repairing compactors and related machinery - Diagnosing and maintaining hydraulic systems - Responding to after-hours breakdowns on a rostered 24/7 basis - Maintaining accurate records of servicing, repairs, and inspections - Completing job sheets and workflow documentation - Ordering parts and consumables in line with inventory and budget requirements - Ensuring workshop tools and equipment are maintained in good working order Requirements To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications: - Trade qualification in fabricating, fitting, and/or welding - Certification in welding to AS/NZS 2980 - Experience in hydraulic system diagnostics and repair - Proven experience as a forklift operator, ideally with current certification - Comfort with rostered on-call work - Strong team player with effective written and verbal communication skills - Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Desirable (but not essential) While not mandatory, the following experience would be advantageous: - Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - Maintenance experience within the transport or waste industry - Full Class 4 driver's license Benefits If you meet the above qualifications and are interested in joining our team, please apply now with your current CV.
