The Wellington Transport Alliance (WTA) is a collaborative partnership involving Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Fulton Hogan, and WSP. Together, we manage the maintenance and operations of the state highways and road networks in the Greater Wellington Region, committed to delivering high service standards to the community.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a Traffic Controller to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing traffic on-site, with a strong emphasis on safety. Your responsibilities will include assisting with site setup and ensuring the safe flow of traffic around the work area.
This position is for night shifts, requiring a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week from Sunday through Thursday.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Assisting with temporary traffic management at various worksites in accordance with current codes of practice.
- Effectively communicating with the work site STMS and foremen to ensure smooth operations.
- Identifying and eliminating hazards as per the hazard identification sheet.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:
- Current TTM and TMO qualifications, or a commitment to obtaining them.
- A full Class 1 Licence is a non-negotiable requirement.
- A dedication to a career in Traffic Management.
- A positive, can-do attitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate the next steps.
- A team-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and develop new skills.
