Lead Quantity Surveyor (New Build / Re-furb)

About the Role In this role, you will lead a small team and manage a variety of new build and refurbishment projects ranging from $500,000 to $4 million. We are looking for someone who has a strong background in managing their own projects and is ready for the next step in their career, or simply seeking a change in environment. Your hands-on leadership will drive the commercial success of our projects while ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, mentoring and motivating the existing Quantity Surveying team, and managing all aspects of the commercial process. This includes procurement, payments, claims, variations, contracts administration, cost reporting, and final accounts. Additionally, you will liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain strong working relationships and identify opportunities for collaboration. Monitoring project progress and addressing any issues that arise will also be a key part of your role. Requirements To be considered for this position, you should hold a relevant construction qualification and have a minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience, with at least three years in New Zealand. Proven experience in both live site and office-based roles within the commercial and industrial sectors is essential. We are looking for someone with strong commercial acumen, capable of managing multiple project budgets effectively. The ability to travel occasionally (1-2 days a week) is also required. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must. Benefits We offer a competitive salary package ranging from $135,000 to $155,000, depending on experience.
