About the Role
We are currently seeking a Whaea/Kaumatua to provide comprehensive guidance, advice, and strategic direction at both clinical and cultural levels within our Forensic and Rehabilitation services at Te Korowai Whariki, MHAIDS. This role is designed to reflect Te Ao Maori and is a part-time position located at the Ratonga Rua campus in Porirua. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting both Forensic and Rehabilitation services.
About Our Team
Te Korowai Whariki is a key component of the Mental Health Addictions and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS). Our services span the Central Region, from Tairawhiti on the East Coast to Whanganui, extending south to Wellington and Wairarapa. We provide a range of services, including Central Region Forensic Inpatient and community services, Youth Forensic services, and Inpatient Rehabilitation and Extended Care Services.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated Maori cultural leader who possesses a strong understanding of Tikanga and the Kawa and Kaupapa of our service. You will provide guidance on matters related to Tikanga Maori within our mental health services. Proficiency in Te Reo Maori is essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fostering positive relationships, demonstrating leadership, and making informed decisions that motivate and influence the practice of others.
