About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef or Cook to join our dedicated Kitchen team on a casual basis through our MetFlex program. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing delicious, quality home-cooked meals and designing appealing menus for our residents in a restaurant-style environment. You will play a key role in managing the dining operation, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience for our residents, driving growth, meeting budget expectations, and exceeding food quality and hygiene standards.
We have kitchens available in East and South Auckland, and we are looking for skilled Cooks and Chefs to provide coverage as needed.
Some of the great things you will be doing include:
- Preparing a variety of delectable dishes in a restaurant setting.
- Coordinating kitchen operations to ensure seamless functionality.
- Maintaining high standards of food quality with consistent portion sizes and exceptional presentation.
- Utilizing your leadership skills to guide and support our kitchen team.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience in a similar culinary role.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Experience in a commercial kitchen or café setting is preferred.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- A food industry qualification.
- Excellent food hygiene practices and a commitment to personal presentation.
