Te Papa is a renowned national institution that proudly showcases the treasures of New Zealand. We serve as a lively destination for both local and international visitors. Recently, we have partnered with the Wellington City Council to manage Takina, Wellington's newest Convention and Exhibition Centre. Our Venues team is exceptional, delivering outstanding event operations and hospitality across both Te Papa and Takina.
About the Role
We are looking for casual Kitchen Porters to join our vibrant Venues Team. In this key operational support role, you will be essential to our busy kitchen environment. Your responsibilities will include deep cleaning tasks and assisting with the lifting and carrying of kitchen items and equipment. We expect our Kitchen Porters to take pride in maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- The ability to thrive under pressure in a busy environment
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and storage, including HACCP principles
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen or catering operation
- Attention to detail and a solid understanding of hygiene and cleaning practices

Our operations include Te Papa's cafes and on-site function venues, along with Takina venues. Therefore, we are looking for team members who can adapt to different work locations. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, and you will be part of a fantastic, friendly team.
Benefits
The hourly rate for this position starts at a minimum of $27.80 per hour. This is a casual position.
