    Alcohol and Drug Clinician - Auckland Opioid Treatment Service - Te Whatu Ora, Waitemata Permanent, Full-time Position Monday to Friday Based in Henderson Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to creating a health system that serves all New Zealanders, grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. About the Company Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) Auckland is seeking a full-time Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Clinician to join our Auckland Opioid Treatment Service (AOTS). As the largest AOD service in New Zealand, CADS engages with over 15,000 individuals annually, providing free services aimed at reducing harm related to substance use and promoting recovery and wellbeing. We accept referrals from healthcare providers as well as self-referrals from individuals and their families seeking support with substance use. About the Role Our AOTS employs a harm reduction philosophy, guiding individuals toward recovery while providing support within their communities. The treatment program includes comprehensive assessments, individualized recovery planning, and a long-term treatment approach when appropriate. In this rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to carry a caseload of clients receiving medication treatment prescribed by CADS and/or primary care. Our organization places a strong emphasis on professional development and offers a thorough orientation process to support your growth. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals who value diversity and are committed to partnering with clients to help them achieve their goals. Your primary office will be located in Henderson, although you may spend time at other clinic sites throughout the region. We seek individuals with strong communication skills, teamwork abilities, and proficient nursing assessment skills to join our dedicated community team, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. About You Essential qualifications and skills include: - A strong sense of social justice - An enjoyment of working with individuals in all their complexities, maintaining a non-judgmental attitude - Excellent engagement and communication skills - The ability to work autonomously while being a part of a team Additionally, you will need: - Full registration with a professional body (e.g., DAPAANZ, nursing, social work, counseling, psychology, occupational therapy) - A valid driver's license - The legal right to work in New Zealand - The ability to implement Te Tiriti o Waitangi in your daily work Ideally, you will also possess: - Clinical experience in mental health, alcohol and drug services, social work, or related fields, preferably as a key worker - A postgraduate qualification in alcohol and drug work or a related field Benefits By working with us, you will enjoy opportunities for professional development and career progression within a regional service.
