About the Role
We have a part-time opportunity for an experienced Cook at our Lakewood Facility in Christchurch. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in our on-site commercial kitchen, ensuring that all nutritional needs of our residents are met.
Your responsibilities will include providing nutritious and appealing meals based on a four-week rotating menu. You will maintain excellent food hygiene practices at all times, work independently, and thrive in a busy kitchen environment. Additional tasks will involve cleaning food preparation areas, operating the dishwasher, and handling food deliveries.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should possess a strong knowledge of food preparation and safety standards, including familiarity with food safety regulations (167/168). A Food Handling certificate is required, or we can support you in obtaining one.
We are looking for someone who has experience in a commercial kitchen setting, is dedicated and reliable, and has a caring nature with a passion for working with the elderly. Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a team player are essential.
