With over 150 employees across four locations, we are committed to the long-term sustainability of the New Zealand pig industry through ongoing investment, innovative processing, and the provision of fresh, top-quality pork products. Our Timaru facility is New Zealand's largest pork specialist abattoir and butchery operation. Our dedicated team of more than 65 staff processes approximately 4,000 pigs each week sourced from farms in North Otago and Canterbury. Balancing production throughput with food safety compliance and the health and wellbeing of our team will be crucial. We are looking for a proven leader who has the ability to motivate and inspire teams. Your hands-on approach will involve spending time on the production floor, supporting and influencing staff, and leading by example. In this high-impact role, your strategic planning and commercial management skills will be essential. You will need to prioritize and plan effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet the core objectives of the position. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should have extensive experience as a Senior Manager in manufacturing management within the meat industry. We value a combination of excellent managerial, technical, and interpersonal skills. You should have a proven track record of leading teams to success and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, are crucial, along with strong negotiation abilities. Active listening skills will enable you to empower your team and promote success across the business. A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality control and health and safety is required. Proficiency in computer and numerical literacy, particularly with the MS Office suite, especially Excel, is important. The ability to perform well under pressure is essential. Benefits When you join our team, you will become part of a successful and professional family business that supplies quality pork to Kiwis. You will work alongside a hardworking and dedicated team that values teamwork and enjoys a good laugh.
