About the Role
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team as a Coordinator for the Salvation Army Bridge Programme. This position requires flexibility in hours, including one shift per weekend. The role is divided into two parts: two days as a Residential Support Worker and three days in the Coordinator position. The successful candidate will also meet with team members across various sites and shifts.
To qualify for this position, candidates must have prior experience in support work within an addiction or mental health setting, hold a National Certificate in Mental Health Support Work Level 4 (or an equivalent qualification), and demonstrate experience in managing staff and completing rosters. It is essential to work in a culturally appropriate manner with Māori and Pacific peoples, as well as to possess a full and clean driver's license.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for providing a supportive and safe environment for clients within our alcohol and drug residential treatment facility. Key responsibilities include:
- Upholding The Salvation Army's mission and Christian ethos.
- Valuing and respecting the individuality, dignity, and privacy of each client in the Bridge Programme.
- Preserving the confidentiality of clients' personal information.
- Maintaining effective communication with clients, their families, and other team members.
- Committing to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi as they apply to the Salvation Army Bridge Programme.
- Ensuring that clients receive care without discrimination based on race, culture, health, sexual orientation, or age.
- Providing training for residential support worker staff.
- Completing staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage for absences.
- Collaborating across multiple sites as needed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant experience in support work in an addiction or mental health setting.
- A National Certificate in Mental Health Support Work Level 4 or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in managing staff and completing rosters.
- A commitment to working in a culturally sensitive manner with Māori and Pacific peoples.
- A full and clean driver's license.

The hours for this permanent position are 40 hours per week, to be worked either from Tuesday to Saturday, 7:45 am to 4:15 pm, or from Sunday to Thursday, 7:45 am to 4:15 pm.
The expected salary for this role ranges from $70,030.06 to $72,917.94, depending on experience.
