About the Role
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our Resource Team at Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau. In this role, you will serve as an essential support to our Registered Nurses, assisting with the daily care of our patients. This position allows you to contribute to our vision of providing high-quality patient care while gaining valuable experience across various specialties within our organization.
As a Health Care Assistant, you will engage with diverse patients and families, supporting our nursing staff in delivering effective clinical care. We are looking for a new team member who is well-organized, able to prioritize tasks, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, and enjoys building relationships with patients.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of Health Care Assistant experience in New Zealand.
- A Level 4 NZ Health Care Assistant certificate with at least 1 year of HCA experience, or a Level 3 Health Care Assistant certificate with 2 years of HCA experience, or an equivalent qualification (to be assessed) in New Zealand.
- Strong communication skills.
Important Notes
- Applicants must not currently be employed at Counties Manukau or any other Te Whatu Ora district in any other capacity.
- We welcome candidates who are open to working at a low full-time equivalent (FTE) in a short-term contract.
- This role is particularly suited for individuals seeking to enter the workforce or gain experience in a New Zealand hospital setting.
