About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team in the Bay of Plenty. If you have a passion for diesel-powered vehicles and wish to take on a hands-on role in ensuring they operate smoothly, this position is perfect for you. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy vehicles, as well as driving the trucks you have worked on.
Requirements
- Class 2 License: Essential for operating our fleet
- Experience: At least 3 years as a Diesel Mechanic with strong technical expertise
- Reliability: Dependable and punctual, demonstrating a strong work ethic
- Attitude: Positive, motivated, and a collaborative team player
- Communication: Clear and professional in all interactions
- Flexibility: Willing to embrace new challenges and tasks as they arise
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Repairs & Maintenance: Maintain and repair heavy fleet vehicles to a high standard
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of service and repairs
- Teamwork: Collaborate with drivers and other staff to minimize downtime
- Parts Management: Source and manage parts while maintaining good supplier relationships
- Driving: Transport and operate vehicles to various locations as needed
- Vehicle Handling: Secure and safely load/unload vehicles when required
Benefits
We offer consistent working hours with day shifts and the potential for extra Saturday work. Our competitive pay ranges from $30 to $38 per hour, depending on experience, and is paid weekly.
