About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our Intensive Support Services (ISS) team at our New Lynn location. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, client-centered support that empowers individuals to grow, develop, and achieve their personal goals.
In this role, you will report to the ISS Team Manager and lead a dedicated team of support workers. Your responsibilities will include delivering services that align with Ember's policies, ISS-specific procedures, and each client's individual Risk Management and Service Plans.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing behavior support and therapeutic interventions based on each client's Care and Rehabilitation Plan (CARP).
- Supporting clients in building independence within their cultural, social, and economic contexts.
- Planning and coordinating responsive, individualized programs and supports.
- Conducting thorough needs assessments and translating these into practical, innovative solutions.
- Mentoring and coaching staff while providing day-to-day operational and clinical leadership at our Otahuhu site.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or an equivalent qualification.
- A full New Zealand driver's license.
- A valid and current work visa, residency, or citizenship.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and complex behaviors.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Knowledge of risk management and best practice support models.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting individuals on their pathway to recovery.
