About the Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team in Wanaka. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the day-to-day operational excellence of our frontline teams. Your responsibilities will include coordinating work rosters, conducting toolbox talks, and ensuring that our vehicles and equipment are safe and ready for operation.
You will work closely with drivers and our transfer station teams to guarantee that our services run smoothly, comply with regulations, and remain profitable. This hands-on role will combine leadership, problem-solving, and operational oversight, ensuring that no two days are the same.
What You Will Be Doing
- Supervising staff and allocating daily work priorities.
- Conducting pre-start checks and leading toolbox meetings.
- Managing costs and driving efficiencies on-site.
- Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
- Supporting equipment maintenance and ordering necessary parts and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitoring waste processing performance and reporting on outcomes.
- Acting as a visible leader committed to sustainability and safety.
What You Will Bring
We are looking for candidates with demonstrated leadership experience in transport, logistics, or waste operations. Your ability to coach and develop frontline staff will be essential.
Key qualifications include:
- Experience in staff scheduling, route planning, and resource allocation.
- A mechanical mindset with hands-on knowledge of mobile plant and equipment.
- A WTR and Class 1 license is preferred, with a Class 2 license also being ideal.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to interpret compliance systems.
- A passion for sustainability and making a positive impact.
