About the Role
We are excited to offer a part-time position for an experienced Commis Chef at the Ernest Rutherford Retirement Village in Nelson. In this role, you will collaborate with our kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience that meets the highest standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working alongside the kitchen team to prepare delicious meals from our seasonal menus, ensuring a variety of flavors and nutritional value.
- Providing coverage for the Senior Lead Chef during their days off.
- Catering to the dietary needs of our residents.
- Assisting with specialty food preparations for fine dining experiences and events.
- Prioritizing health and safety in all kitchen operations.
About You
To excel in this position, you will possess:
- A New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 3).
- Proven experience as a Commis Chef, with a track record of leading a team and managing kitchen operations.
- Preferred experience in a café setting.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- A reliable, friendly, and professional demeanor.
