About the Role
We are currently seeking a Decontamination Coordinator/Labourer to join our team and work directly with cleaning contracts throughout the South Island. This position involves hands-on decontamination and demolition of contaminated home interiors, alongside administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and will work closely with management and clients to ensure that projects run smoothly and efficiently.
This role will require some travel to job sites across the South Island, which may involve overnight stays. Candidates should be prepared to work away from home when necessary. General working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, but flexibility is essential as overtime and weekend work may be required.
Duties include:
- Performing cleaning and decontamination of residential homes, which involves physical, hands-on work
- Managing job schedules and service bookings, such as Warrant of Fitness checks and vehicle servicing
- Handling stock and inventory management
- Completing approximately 40% of administrative tasks
- Collaborating closely with management and clients to ensure efficient job completion
- Adhering to all health and safety compliance protocols as instructed
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Solid organizational and administrative skills
- Construction or laboring experience (preferred but not essential)
- The ability to travel frequently for work
- Good physical health, as the position requires manual heavy lifting
- The capacity to work independently and manage one’s own schedule
- A full New Zealand driver’s license, with the ability to drive a manual vehicle and tow/back a trailer
