About the Role We are currently seeking Warehouse Picker/Packers to join our dynamic team. In this entry-level position, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our warehouse stock reaches our stores efficiently. You will work out of either our Dry Goods or Chilled/Frozen warehouse, where your daily responsibilities will include: - Preparing and completing product orders by loading, packing, wrapping, labeling, and shipping. - Engaging in bulk repetitive picking, which may involve heavy lifting of up to 25kg. - Operating machinery and electric pallet jacks for stock movement. - Adhering to our Health and Safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. - Meeting daily targets that contribute to our mission of feeding the South Island. The starting pay rate for this position is $26.79 per hour, depending on experience, and we provide the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE). Your hourly rate will be reviewed after six months of employment. We currently have multiple full-time shifts available, including: - Sunday-Monday afternoon and morning shifts, totaling 16 hours per week. This role serves as an excellent entry point to your career with Foodstuffs, with many team members progressing to various positions within our organization. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should be physically fit, as much of your shift will involve being on your feet and lifting heavy cartons. The following qualifications are essential: - Punctuality and reliability. - A strong willingness to engage in the work. - Reliable transportation to and from the workplace. - Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. While having a forklift license or prior experience in a similar role is preferred, it is not a strict requirement.
