Currently, we are seeking qualified and licensed plumbers with commercial experience to work at McMurdo Station in Antarctica for the Summer 2025/26 season. About the Role This is a unique opportunity to work in one of the most isolated and breathtaking locations on Earth. Deployments are expected to take place from approximately October 2025 through March 2026. Our roles require individuals who are prepared for the challenges of living and working in such a remote environment. We offer competitive compensation of $66.11 per hour on a contract basis, with pay received fortnightly in NZD for 54 hours a week. In addition, we provide flights from any major New Zealand airport, shared accommodation, food, and travel insurance. All personal protective equipment (PPE) will also be supplied. This role involves working on a large commercial construction project, where you will be responsible for various plumbing tasks, including basic and repetitive plumbing duties. A current New Zealand Plumbing Licence is essential for this position. Requirements Please note that due to travel restrictions, only New Zealand and US citizens currently residing and working in New Zealand are eligible to apply. Candidates must be willing to receive vaccinations for Flu, Tdap, and MMR. This opportunity is not a fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) position; you will be on-site for an extended duration, working long hours, six days a week. Applicants must pass medical and dental examinations, obtain security clearance, and complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. A Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and a clean criminal record are also required. As the application process is extensive, candidates should be prepared for a lengthy evaluation period. Additionally, you may need to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams. We will cover the costs of testing and flights if you are coming from outside the Bay of Plenty.
