Plumber - Facilities Team

About the Role We are seeking a qualified and experienced Plumber to join our in-house Facilities Team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various services across a range of TCC residential buildings and commercial assets, including public toilets, libraries, Mt Holiday Park, sports club rooms, and more. You will engage in both reactive and planned maintenance as well as minor project work. As a registered and licensed plumber, you will be tasked with installations, repairs, and maintenance of pipes, valves, fittings, and drainage systems. We are looking for a proactive individual who takes health and safety seriously, can work independently, and is adaptable to changes. It is essential that you understand the importance of keeping our community, customers, and stakeholders satisfied. The typical working hours for this role are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, amounting to a 40-hour week. However, flexibility is necessary as some building assets may not be accessible during these hours. On-call work is also part of this role, with additional allowances provided. This will typically involve being on-call one week out of a four-week rotating roster. The position will be based out of our Owens Place depot and will report to the Supervisor of Facilities. Requirements To succeed within the City Operations Team, you will need: - A minimum of 6 years of experience in residential and commercial plumbing. - A full and clean Class 1 NZ driver’s license. - Qualification as a Registered and Licensed Plumber/Gas Fitter, adhering to The National Standard Plumbing Code. - Independent Qualified Person registration/compliance. - A curious mindset with a desire to understand how things work. - Availability for occasional after-hours work to service our client base. - Proven ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands. - Strong attention to detail along with proven problem-solving skills. - Proficiency with technology, including the use of mobile apps and iPads for tracking and reporting work. - Strong communication skills.
