About the Role
We are currently seeking Construction Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to our projects. We value motivated and results-driven individuals who are willing to work flexibly across different locations in the country to support our operations.
Key responsibilities of the Construction Technician include:
- Performing tasks that are within your skills and capabilities to meet our business needs.
- Complying with all aspects of contracts, projects, or tasks while delivering customer service that meets or exceeds expectations.
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for above-ground structures.
- Creating forms, structures, or chutes and pouring concrete.
- Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and laying hardwood or other types of flooring.
- Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding the patches.
- Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using various tools and equipment.
- Conducting general labor tasks, including cleaning construction sites as directed by managers.
- Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment, and transporting them around building sites.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- Some experience in the construction industry is preferable, although it is not essential.
- A friendly disposition, good time management skills, and a strong work ethic are essential.
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry.
- A sound understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Benefits
The pay for this position ranges from a minimum of $25.00 per hour to a maximum of $32.00 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
Location
You may be required to work in various locations throughout New Zealand, including Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
