In this role, your responsibilities will include: - Delivering high-quality assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for clients. - Providing treatment in community settings for a broad range of diagnoses and often complex co-morbidities, typically in private homes or facilities. - Collaborating with other members of the multidisciplinary team. - Supporting the team and organization through services such as case consultation, staff training and supervision, leadership, service development activities, and research and evaluation. About the Team/Service/Location The Older Persons Mental Health service (OPMH) primarily operates in the community, with access to six inpatient beds located at Hutt Hospital. We offer specialist assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for individuals experiencing recent onset functional mental health issues or dementia with significant behavioral and psychological symptoms (BPSD). Our case management model works in conjunction with liaison services, partnering with patients, families, General Practitioners, other clinical teams, and community supports to achieve optimal health outcomes. We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Psychologist, preferably with experience and a strong interest in working with older adults. You will thrive in a high-functioning, collegial, interdisciplinary team. The role is 0.8 full-time equivalent, though we are open to negotiating hours. About You To be successful in this position, you will have: - A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology or equivalent. - Registration with the NZ Psychologist Board, including Clinical Psychology Vocational Scope of Practice. - A current annual practicing certificate. - A solid understanding of psychopathology and psychological theories. - Experience working with Inpatient and/or Community Older Adult Mental Health Services and/or Neuropsychology (preferred but not essential). - A good sense of humor, along with a collaborative and flexible working style. - A current driver’s license.
