About the Role
We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team at our Malvern plant, located in Burnham, just outside Christchurch. This role focuses on the assessment and management of the general health and wellbeing of our employees, responding to emergencies, and providing health education. The successful candidate will play a vital role in improving the health outcomes of our workforce and will be expected to deliver employee-focused primary care medical services with confidence and passion.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct employment health screenings and diagnostic testing, such as hearing and lung assessments.
- Assess employee injuries and complete necessary ACC documentation.
- Review prescribed medications to ensure their appropriateness for individual work tasks.
- Contribute to the creation of light duties and phased return-to-work plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the local community and healthcare providers.
- Work towards improving health outcomes for our employees.
- Perform occupational health monitoring and drug and alcohol screening testing.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- A current Registered Nurse Practicing Certificate.
- A formally recognized qualification in health.
- A First Aid certificate.
- Experience in acute or primary health settings.
- A demonstrated understanding of medico-legal and ethical responsibilities.
- Enthusiasm and passion for enhancing healthcare for employees and their communities.
- The ability to work well under pressure while providing exceptional patient care.
- A practical understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and its workplace applications.
