About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated maintenance fitter to join our team at SPM Malvern. This role is vital to our operations, as you will work alongside our existing trades team on either the day or night shift. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and maintain our plant assets to minimize processing downtime and support the company's short- and long-term objectives. We are looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude who thrives in a team environment.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should possess the following key skills and attributes:
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Proactive attitude to ensure minimal downtime for production departments due to engineering and maintenance needs
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage a variety of priorities and demands
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- Relevant qualifications and/or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Qualifications
Ideal applicants will have:
- A Trade Certificate in engineering/maintenance or a minimum of three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications
- Welding capabilities in Tig, Mig, and MMAW
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Previous experience working with automated plant and equipment
- Experience in a food processing environment is an advantage
- A proactive approach to daily tasks with strong organizational skills
- A commitment to upholding health and safety standards
- A desire to succeed
The position requires working 45-55 hours per week, with an hourly rate set between $35 and $45 depending on relevant experience.
